PSALM 112
4, Light arises in the darkness for the upright, gracious, compassionate and just – who are in right standing with God.
Isaiah 60: 1 Arise (from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you); rise to a new life! Shine —be radiant with the glory of the Lord; for your light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon you!
2. For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and dense darkness all peoples; but the Lord shall arise upon you O Jerusalem, and His glory shall be seen on you. Amp. C.
DEFINITIONS
Upright – -c) to be straight.
Darkness -c) misery, destruction, death, ignorance, sorrow, wickedness; withholding the light.
This points to the last days. Anytime it has darkness covering the earth, it is referring to the last days. Satan has been given a short time to do his thing. And he will give it everything he’s got. He is working overtime, but He is defeated always by the Light. So, we must be filled with the Light.
The world will be in darkness because the Lord is withholding the light. Now the light covers all. But soon it will not. Now is the time to be filled with the Holy Spirit and stay filled. If you keep straying from following the leading of the Holy Spirit, He will drain out of you.
Obedience is essential in following the Lamb. If you do the will of the flesh or someone else it is disobedience and Romans 8:1-14. That chapter is taken too lightly. There is no condemnation if you do the will of the Holy Spirit. If you obey anything else then there will be condemnation. Satan never takes a break but God’s people continually take breaks.
The disobedient people will walk in darkness. But the Glory of the Lord will arise on those who follow the leading of the Holy Spirit.
Light -c) Happiness, bright, clear, morning, sun, illuminous.
There will be a contrast. So many will be in darkness and so very sad because of the destruction and death all around. Does that sound familiar? And they are in ignorance because they don’t know why this is happening to them. Why?
Isaiah 5:13 Therefore My people go into captivity without knowing it because they have no knowledge of God. And their honorable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst.
They are thirsting for the presence of God. It is the same as the days of Israel. The just find something else they would rather do. They do not put the Lord’s will above their own. That causes darkness.
It is always in our best interest to follow the promptings of the Holy Spirit and the Lamb. There lies our happiness and joy. If we follow Him, we will get to know Him. If we know Him, we will want more of Him. There is nothing this world or flesh has to offer that compares to Him. But evidently the Church does not know that, or they would not be in captivity or darkness.
There will be a remnant who follow the Lamb, and the glory of the Lord will arise upon them. They will illuminate with His Light and it will be seen. They will be happy and blessed while the rest of the world is in misery and sadness. Blessed be the name of the Lord!
