5. Why should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of those who would supplant me surrounds me on every side.
12. But man with all his honor and pomp does not remain; he is like the beasts that perish.
20. Man who is held in honor and understands not, is like the beasts that perish.
DEFINITIONS
Beast -c) OT a dumb beast.
Beast -c) NT a live thing.
You hear so much of end time prophecy talk about the Mark of the Beast. It has such a certain sound, like Hollywood. It sounds like the Pharisees when they asked for a sign from Jesus. They wanted to see something big and exciting, that would appeal to their senses. When actually they were full of unbelief and the Lord gave them nothing but His own death and resurrection.
I think the mark of the beast is very simple. We were created on the 6th day the same as the animals. We have a beast nature because Adam and Eve sinned. We need the 7th day or the Sabbath to be complete which we can only have through the cross. We are not complete without Jesus.
We must be crucified with Christ and let this beast nature within us die. Until then we are a live and dumb thing in need of perfecting. If we continue to hang on to our life, we will lose it. But if we lose it for Jesus’ sake, we shall truly live.
If we continue with this beast nature the Anti-Christ spirit will have access to us and put his spiritual mark of sin and the flesh upon us. We will do his will and it will show by what we think and do thus putting his mark on our minds and hands. He is copying the Father’s mark that He puts on the elect in the last days, Rev. 9:4 and 14:1.
Revelation 14:9-10 says whoever pays homage to the beast and permits his mark to be put on his forehead or his hand will suffer a great eternal torment. Just what does homage mean? We are to give our will to the Lord and serve Him. We all serve someone whether it be ourselves or family or Satan. Or the Lord if we are true Christians. Whose will do you do?
It all comes down to loving the Lord and giving Him our life. If we serve Him and do homage to Him by following the Lamb in all we do, then we are safe. It all has to do with love and worship. Too many don’t even try to do the Lords will and still think they are saved. He is a jealous God and wants all of us. He is the creator and has every right.
When we do it His way, He gives more back than we could ever imagine. The blessings are infinite.
Ephesians 3:20 now unto Him that is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us. KJV
It has to do with faith. How much we get depends on how much we believe.
