PSALM 63
- O God, You are my God; earnestly will I seek You; my inner self thirsts for You, my flesh longs and is faint for You, in a dry and weary land, where no water is.
- So, I have looked upon You in the sanctuary, to see Your power and your glory.
- Because Your loving-kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You.
- So will I bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name.
- My whole being shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips. Amp. C.
This is a Psalm of David when he was in the wilderness of Judah. We think of how terrible it would be to have none of the basic necessities of life as we see it today. But that is one of the reasons he seeks the Lord so intently. He is not sitting down in self-pity and complaining of His hard lot.
David is drawn closer to the Lord because of his circumstances. That is one reason the Lord allows trials in our lives. It drives us to our knees where we find the Lord. And just look at what David finds. He looks upon the Lord and finds Him better than life. His whole being is satisfied while he has no place to lay his head. He has no refrigerator full of food. He has no phone to call and order a pizza.
He has nothing and yet He has everything. He is blessed above all things. It causes him to follow the Lord with his whole being. And he finds satisfaction in his inner self. He sees the Lord’s power and His glory. What an ultimate blessing. He will never be the same. There is only one thing to make him rejoice and it is not this world or its accommodations.
All are looking upon the people in Florida and North Carolina with great pity and sorrow. But that is what the last days are all about. Great tribulations come and how do we react to them? Here is our example. We must learn from David. We must see the outcome and what is possible.
If we have nothing, what a better time to seek the Lord with all that is within us. If we do that, we will find Him. That is what is wrong with the world of today. No one seeks the Lord. No one sees His glory and power. No one is satisfied with the Lord and thirsts for Him.
It changes David to want to bless the Lord, lifting up his hands and following closely after Him. This world will be gone and all of its pleasantries. What we accomplish spiritually is all that really matters.
The people who have endured the recent storms are blessed with an opportunity they have never had before. This is the big one. What does this mean. It means there are most probably more to come for the rest of us.
Thank you, Jesus, for loving us enough to send us what we need so we will seek you with our whole being. And please help those in the storm battered areas to seek you with all their hearts and find You.
Isaiah 28:22 Now therefore do not be scoffers, lest the bands which bind you be made strong; for a decree of destruction have I heard from the Lord God of hosts upon the whole land and the whole earth. Amp. c.
What a great verse and the breakdown of it, to hopefully help people realize that there is still nothing new under the sun. Every situation and circumstance you can think of, The Bible has it covered – It’s in there!! What a great time to study how David sought after the Lord, when he was homeless and his faith was shaken.

The Lord is so good and does not change. He knows our every weakness and how to deal with them. He certainly can be found. 💕💕

I think most people do pray when things get as bad as they are today. The Lord will hear their cry!
