PSALM 33

  1. Rejoice in the Lord, O you uncompromisingly righteous you upright in right standing with God; for praise is becoming and appropriate for those who are upright in heart.

2. Give thanks to the Lord with the lyre, sing praises to Him with the harp of ten strings.

3. Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully with a loud and joyful sound. Amp c

Here again we are told of the goodness of the Lord by how He blesses us. He is telling us to rejoice. He says we look good to Him when we rejoice and praise Him. He tells us to play an instrument like a guitar. This is before there was Christian music. They just played from their heart like David when he played for Saul and the evil spirit left. There is power in praise.

If you think about all your problems that could be fixed by praise, you would do it so much more. And yet that is what the Lord is telling us. He has given us a gift that is an answer to our problems. I see it happening all the time. There is joy in praise. There is joy in thanksgiving. There is strength in joy. It all comes from the Lord. And it looks good on us.

We are told to put on the garment of praise. We must choose to put it on. But when we do something supernatural occurs. We are lifted out of this earthly realm to the heavenly realm. The flesh cannot control us. The devil cannot hurt us. And the world is under us. We are in a joyfully spiritual place of safety where Jesus is.

We are told to seek His face. When we enter His gates with thanksgiving in our hearts and into His courts with praise, the next step is coming into His house where He is. If we try hard enough and are determined, we can see Him in the Spirit. But we have to concentrate on Him and keep looking. He is there and will allow us to find Him if we are determined to find Him.

Isaiah 26:3 You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You and hopes confidently in You.
