ISAIAH 6

  1. In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and His train filled the temple.
  2. Above it stood the seraphim; each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly.
  3. And one cried to another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of Hosts: the whole earth is full of His glory.
  4. And the posts of the door moved at the voice of Him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke.
  5. Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts. KJV

I wonder why Isaiah said he was a man of unclean lips instead of an unclean heart. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. The angel brought the coals of fire and cleansed his lips. Maybe he could not cleanse the heart. Only the blood of Jesus could do that. I don’t know that one.

But Isaiah was in need of cleansing. That is what happens when you are in God’s presence. God told Moses, “No one shall see me and live.” That is why men run into the holes of the earth in Revelation 6:17. They see God’s face in the sky and their sin is exposed. The coal had to consume Isaiah’s sin.

Isaiah is being prepared to be God’s mouthpiece. His mouth has been cleansed. Now He can speak for God. That has happened to others throughout the Bible and many not in the Bible. I believe if you really want to speak for the Lord, you must make true worship a part of your life.

God inhabits the praises of His people, then prepares them to speak as he reveals His beautiful face. Then He asks Isaiah, “Whom shall He send?” He never forces us to do anything. Isaiah says send me!

Lord wants to use us to speak for Him, but we must allow His presence to draw near and cleanse us with His refiner’s fire. Only then can we effectively go!

  1. Even before the Ark of God had been placed in the Temple, David insured that there was praise and worship, both day and night, before The Lord God.

These are the singers, heads of the fathers“ houses of the Levites, dwelling in the temple chambers, free from other service because they were on duty day and night (1Chr 9:33)
