PSALM 24

6. This is the generation (description) of those who seek Him, who inquire of and for Him, and seek Him, who inquire of and for Him, and of necessity require Him, who seek Your face, O God of Jacob. Selah.

7. Lift up your heads, O you gates; and be lifted up, you age-abiding doors; that the King of Glory may come in.

This is a Psalm of David. He is just talking about the Lord and His glory. This is the same word for glory as in Isaiah 60:1. It means abundance. In this case it means abundance of who Jesus is. There is a heaviness about this glory meaning it falls upon us in a way that we must look up.

He keeps saying to lift up your heads. We must remember that when He returns every eye will see him. If we look up and keep our thoughts on Him, He is there. He engulfs us with His presence. We are filled with power to overcome the enemy. He will not come where the Lord is, so we are safe.

He is strong and mighty. His power is our strength and hope that defeats the enemy and brings protection and dispels darkness, 2Cor.4:6. We must come out of the world and the media to have His presence in its fullness. That is a small price to pay for this victory in our lives.

When the King of Glory comes in, Satan leaves us and those around us. Trouble starts to cease. Good things start to happen. Abundance of who and what Jesus is starts to happen in and around us.

We must learn to see His face because when He returns all will see His face and what happens? Most run into the holes of the earth to get away from Him because of their sin. Now is the time to learn how to seek His face and be sanctified.

It is time to run to Him and not away from Him. So many live in the flesh and think that is the normal way to live. The flesh is in opposition to the Lord. Romans 8:1-14 tell how to die to the flesh. We must learn to not let the flesh control us. We have to stop giving in to the flesh. The flesh is selfish and always wants more. That is why fasting is so important.

The way a plant dies is by not being fed. If we do not give it water and light, it will die. If we stop giving the flesh what it wants it will die. That is mortification and Romans 8:13. This is the only way.
