PSALM 5
- Listen to my words, O Lord; give heed to my sighing and groaning.
- Hear the sound of my cry, my King and my God, for to You do I pray.
- In the morning you hear my voice, O Lord; in the morning I prepare a prayer, a sacrifice for You, and watch and wait for You to speak to my heart. AMPC
This is another Psalm of David. I love Psalm 5. I don’t think we have talked about it before. David is praying and talking to the Lord. He not only is talking to the Lord but is expecting the Lord to talk back.
We must spend time after our prayer time being still and listening for Him to speak to us. He speaks to the still place in our heart. It is when we stop thinking about our circumstances that may be troubling and think on Him that He shows up. We must focus on Him.
It is as if we are actually looking upon His face. We do that in the Spirit and His presence comes and fill our hearts. That is what dispels darkness. 2 Corinthians 4:6 is one very effective way to fight the devil. We don’t have to bind Satan so much if we can master the looking upon the face of Jesus. Then the Lord will speak if we wait. We cannot be in a hurry. This is something that is a growing thing. But it is vital for us as times get worse. We need His guidance more than ever before.
11. But let those who take refuge and put their trust in You rejoice: let them forever sing and shout for joy, because You make a covering over them and defend them; let those also who love Your name be joyful in You and be in high spirits. AMPC
The Lord wants His people to be happy. When we truly worship the Lord, He sends His joy down upon them. We reap what we sew. What you give up to Him comes back down to you. And it is wonderful. That is one reason when you see a dead church, you can know it does not have the Holy Spirit in its midst working on the people’s hearts.
He not only sends down His joy, but He also defends them. He puts a spiritual shield about them that no one anything can penetrate. It is just so very smart to worship the Lord not only at Church on Sundays but at home every day. It is for our benefit.
Watch and pray that you may not enter into temptation.🙏
