PSALM 30
7. By Your favor, O Lord, You have established me as a strong mountain; You hid Your face, and I was troubled.
8. I cried to You, O Lord, and to the Lord I made supplication. Amp.
When Psalm 30 is read, only verse 5 is read about weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning. What does the rest say?
If the Lord does not establish us and make our footing secure, we will not stand. If the Lord hides His face from us, we must seek Him until we find out the reason why. How can we be content without His face? We must remember that we are here for a reason.
Most just think we are here to save souls and yes, we are but we are also here to be perfected so that we can become a pillar in the house of the Lord one day. When He hides His face from us there is always a very good reason.
There is so much sin and the world in the Church these days that many do not live with the favor of the Lord and His face shining upon them. He is testing us all. He wants to know how important His face is to us. Are we able to live without it? If your answer is yes and you are a Christian, then you are a candidate for a miserable life.
He puts us through the refining process and then rewards us for our time of suffering. He rewards us with Himself. But we have to put ourselves in the right position to receive Him. If we go on without Him for any length of time we lose so much.
We are here to learn how to be in His presence. If there are things wrong, it hinders His presence in our life. So, He is always changing us so we can have more of Him. David was troubled because the Lord hid His face. There are so many things that the Lord will not allow in my life that I see others doing and I know they are living without His Face or His favor. How unhappy they must be.
David goes on and prays to find out why. Then he asks for mercy and Him to be his helper. So, David knows his need. And what happens? The lord receives his repentance for whatever reason and takes away his sackcloth and girds him with gladness, turning his mourning into dancing.
Now David is praising Him with all he has. He will not be silent but will give thanks forever! Why? Because David did not ignore the fact that the Lord hid His Face. He sought the Lord for the answer why!
Psalm 34:16 The face of the Lord is against those who do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
Revelation 6:16 And they called to the mountains and the rocks, Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him Who sits on the throne, and from the deep-seated indignation and the wrath of the Lamb. Amp
When the Lord comes back, we must be able to stand in His presence and see His Face. Moses could not see His face, or He would have died. He put him in the cleft of the rock which is Jesus. We must be refined and ready when He comes.
Sin causes that separation between man and God. We must not have light thoughts of sin and let our heart get hardened to the conviction of the Holy Spirit or we will run the other way the way Adam and Eve did. They hid themselves from God because of their sin. That is why men are running into the rocks.
When He returns, He will judge the wicked. He is coming for a refined people who love Him more than this world. That is our test. We must choose His face over the empty things of this world.
There is definitely a sense of being able to grasp the weight of the blessing after knowing the weight of the darkness.
Having sight all of our life without ever being blind can be taken casually, but a blind person only knows if they ever had sight, what they are missing.
Why does joy come in the morning? Because the darkness is gone, and the light has come.

Only then can we be truly thankful enough for the depth of our deliverance. That is why the Lord take such pains with us at times.
