PSALM 68
7. O God, when You went forth before Your people, when You marched through the wilderness, Selah.
8. The earth trembled, the heavens also poured down rain at the presence of God; yonder Sinai quaked at the presence of God, the God of Israel.
9. You, O God did send a plentiful rain, You did restore and confirm Your heritage when it languished and was weary.
10. Your flock found a dwelling place in it; You O God, in Your goodness did provide for the poor and needy.
The Lord is doing what He promised He would do. He is providing for His people rain in a parched land. His presence came down and caused the earth to tremble. He came down like He did for David in Psalm 18:9 when he cried to the Lord.
When the Lord comes down it is usually because of the enemies of His people. He causes the earth to quake and rock the foundations of the earth. Mountains move. There is thunder and lightning and voices from above.
There is also spiritual rain that fills the spirit of the weary giving them the needed strength to continue on the right path. He saved David from the wrath of Saul and put him in a large place where he was safe.
There are many of the Lord’s people who have been walking on a difficult road trying their best to serve the Lord. But nothing seems to ever get easier until now. He is arising and His enemies are scattered. This is a picture of the last days.
A final outpouring of His Spirit will come and set many free. A great last day’s harvest is expected to bring many into the kingdom at the end. He will reveal His glory as He has not in the past. It will be a new thing – a wonderful thing – a glorious thing! Many prayers of God’s people will be answered. Because He is coming back!
Isaiah 40:3 A voice of one who cries, Prepare in the wilderness the way of the Lord – clear away the obstacles – make straight and smooth in the desert a highway for our God!
4. Every valley shall be lifted and filled up, and every mountain and hill shall be made low; and the crooked and uneven shall be made straight and level, and the rough places plain.
5. And the glory – majesty and splendor – of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together, for the mouth of the Lord has spoken it. Amp.
