PSALM 68

  1. God is already beginning to arise, and His enemies to scatter; let them also who hate Him flee before Him!
  2. As smoke is driven away, so drive them away; as wax melts before the fire, so let the wicked perish before the presence of God.
  3. But let the uncompromisingly righteous be glad; let them be in high spirits and glory before God, yes let them jubilantly rejoice!
  4. Sing to God, sing praises to His name; cast up a highway for Him who rides through the deserts; His name is the Lord, be in high spirits and glory before Him!
  5. A father of the fatherless, and a judge and protector of the widows, is God in His holy habitation.

This is a Psalm of David. He is learning all about how the Lord works. He sees Him defeating David’s enemies. The Lord needs not weapons of war. What does He use? His presence is all He needs. It melts the wicked. Then we can rejoice because when He comes to dwell within us, He brings His presence.

We see in this scripture why we need to be filled with His presence. That is our protection in the last days. Nothing can hurt us if the Lord dwells in us. When His presence is within it brings joy and we certainly must rejoice and be in high spirits. Yes, we are a target for the harassments of the devil. But that is okay because we are learning his moves so we can become fearless (another blessing for the last days – Isaiah 60:5).

It is so important that we spend time praying and talking to the Lord. It is as our spirits are plugged into Him and we are getting recharged. He is our power station. If we do not stay plugged into Him, we will run out of power and be empty. That is when our spirit starts to droop. He says to be in high spirits twice and not be sad. As we sing praises to Him, we are filled, and Satan flees because the Lord inhabits the praises of His people. The best time to sing is after prayer. Our spirits are ripe for power and that makes our enemies melt like wax!

Psalm 68:35 O God, awe inspiring, profoundly impressive and terrible are You out of Your holy places; the God of Israel, He gives strength and fullness of might to His people. Blessed be God!

We must stay plugged into Him and habitually learn His holy ways and then He will give us fullness of might. We are so blessed to have the privilege to be filled with Him. He is so gentle, kind and good to us while He melts the wickedness that is all around!
