ZECHARIAH 4:6
6. Then he said to me, This (addition of the bowl to the candlestick, causing it to yield a ceaseless supply of oil from the olive trees) is the Word of the Lord to Zerubbabel, saying Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit (of Whom the oil is a symbol), says the Lord of hosts. Amp.
In the 1st chapter of Haggai, the Lord is speaking to Zerubbabel the Governor of Judah and Joshua the high priest and tells them to rebuild the house of the Lord that lies in ruins. In Zechariah 4 He is telling them He is giving them great power to accomplish the task.
He is telling them although it seems like a great undertaking it shall be like a mere mole hill. It is because it will be done not by might nor power but by the Spirit of the Lord. He is telling them that He is the One Who will build His Church just like today. But how does He do it?
He brings attention to the two olive trees that are standing by the lampstand with the 7 lamps and the 7 pipes that are being fed with oil. The lampstand is a symbol of the church. The two olive trees are one on the right and one on the left. They are continually feeding the lampstand with a ceaseless supply of oil.
Zechariah asks at the end of the chapter in verse 12, “What are these two olive branches.” the Lord answers him saying, “they are the two anointed ones who stand by the Lord of the whole earth. The two anointed ones are Zerubbabel and Joshua who are the king and priest at the time.
The Holy Spirit needs vessels to pour out His Spirit through. He could just pour it out, but He chooses to use vessels. Rev. 1:6 says He hath made us kings and priests unto God. We are His chosen instruments that He wants to continuously fill with holy oil as we stand before Him.
As we stand before Him in our service to Him in prayer, worship, study and all that it holds, we are used by Him to yield oil to the church. We are to be full vessels and not empty or we will not be useful.
We are each accountable for rebuilding the temple. We each have a place to work and build. It is up to us to spend time with the Lord so we are filled with the Holy Spirit so that He can work through us.
Luke 21:36 Keep awake then and watch at all times (that is be discreet, attentive, and ready); praying that you may have the full strength and ability and be accounted worthy to escape all these things that will take place and to stand in the presence of the Son of man. Amp.

So many things in the Old Testament are physical and in the New Testament are spiritual. We are a spiritual temple. The Church is a spiritual temple or building. Spiritual circumcision, spiritual holy of holies and more. And we are the blessed ones for it!!🎶💗💖
