PSALM 95:1-3

  1. O come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!
  2. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to Him with songs of praise.
  3. For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods. Amp.

I am just rather upset right now because the Church I go to canceled Thursday night services for tonight. The Pastor was sick, but there are others to fill in for him. He does so much and is under attack at this time. They are having a Valentines Banquet tomorrow night and are fixing it up for the banquet.

In all of my time with the Lord, I have had Church in my house off and on since the 80’s. That is when my spiritual daughter Cheryl started coming. My oldest daughter was in High School and invited so many to our house for Bible Study. The Lord used my late husband Gary in such a special way.

He had such a wonderful gift of prophesy. He would just go on and on and all who heard him were always changed by what they heard. We would lay hands on these kids and pray for them. Then the Lord would always give him such a wonderful personal word for them that they started serving the Lord.

Cheryl was one of them. She was being sexually abused at that time and the Lord reached down and changed her forever. We all just cried that night it was so special. He knew what she needed – we didn’t. She has always kept in touch with me through the years. And now we are so very close.

Since my husband went to be with the Lord, Cheryl and I have had so many Bible studies together. We have learned to worship together. In all of these years I would never have canceled Bible Study or Church at my house for any reason. If she did not come for any reason, I still worship the Lord by myself. He always has kept me singing. I know where I belong, and He always makes sure I am there no matter what may come.

I know what the Lord has expected from me in my service to Him. I am accountable for Cheryl. She lives and hour away or she would have been at my house tonight. If this gets to be a habit, that is what we will do.

How come it is okay for them to neglect and forsake the assembling of believers? I am sure they will all show up tomorrow night for the great Barbeque! Forgive me Lord if that is judging.

We have a new spiritual son who is going to church with us. What do I tell him?

    1. He was and those kids loved him. Most did not have good fathers. He was a good father. And still is I believe he is busy in heaven still teaching.
      Thank you, Counselor! 💝❤️💖

  1. It’s a sad thing when the church forgets her responsibility. There should be able men or women to take up in the pastor’s absence, but that’s the heart of the church in the inaction.
As for the banquet, pray that there will be a good word available to those in attendance.
For your new spirtual son, don’t let him see you frustration with the church, you don’t want him to be discouraged, nor to develope his own judment of the church, only build him up, take the time to read scripture with him, pray together and keep on following Jesus.
    Bless you Wenda

    1. I thank you for the advice. I really needed to hear your words. I have not gotten the opportunity to pray or read with him. I will pray for it to happen and look for openings. His name is James. Please pray for him. He just got out of jail for doing nothing wrong. His life has been one disappointment after another. But he is one of the nicest people I have ever known. He helps me and not many do.
The Lord showed me He was using the banquet and they would know. I do love them all.
You and Tam both helped me a lot! Thanks again! 💖
      God Bless you both!

  2. Beautiful story about your original connection to Cheryl💕 I understand how you feel, Wenda. My last Church cancelled Sunday Service so the pastor could go 🏌️‍♂️golfing in Arizona. I was outdone…but I still love each of them, and I continue to pray for them. But The Kingdom of God must come first…not the food and drink!!

[After all] the kingdom of God is not a matter of [getting the] food and drink [one likes], but instead it is righteousness (that state which makes a person acceptable to God) and [heart] peace and joy in the Holy Spirit (Rom 14:17)

    1. Thank you, Tam. It is painful to watch when you love them. They don’t even know they are hurting Jesus. But I still have to believe He has a plan and is in control. Though I would rather not watch. 👁️
I do thank Him for Cheryl!
