SAFETY IN THE LAST DAYS – REVELATION 14:6-7
6. And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,
7. Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to Him; for the hour of His judgment is come: and worship Him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. KJV
DEFINITIONS
Dwell -c) “Katoikeo” to reside.
Compulsion -d) force, coercion.
Homage -d) anything given or done to show the reverence, honor, etc. in which a person is held.
This angel is announcing that the time of God’s judgment has arrived. He is warning those who dwell or reside on the earth and not in the heavenlies like we have been discussing in the previous posts.
Where is the place of safety? The angel is telling them to fear God, give Him glory and worship Him. Safety is in worshipping God. That is the safest place there is. He is telling those who dwell on the earth and not those who dwell in the heavenlies because they are safe.
Babylon is getting ready to fall. Those who do homage to the beast will not make it but receive the harshest judgment. The key here is the word “homage.” Homage is what we do to show whom we serve. Our behavior will reflect who or what we worship and love.
If someone lives with you for one week, they should know by your life who or what you love. Our actions should be of our service to the Lord. It should be what we love to do. If it is a chore and something we feel we must do to go to heaven, then that is not worship or love. It is compulsion.
The Lord does not force us to come to Him. He draws us by His unconditional love that is wonderfully irresistible. That must be the driving force behind us. We love Him because He first loved us and there is nothing better than Him.
The angel is saying to them to fear God and worship Him. It is time to see what you love. There will be many Church people who believe they are going to be raptured away who do not put the Lord first. Many will be offended when they end up suffering the plagues of Babylon. They have been warned and warned to come out of Babylon, but where is their true loyalty?
Do they serve the beast nature inside of them doing just as the flesh pleases or do they serve the Lord and all who knows them know they serve the Lord?
It is time to pay homage to the Lord alone and worship Him! He is telling us He is coming soon and what a glorious day that will be!
