REVELATION 12:12
12. Therefore be glad (exult), O heavens and you that dwell in them! But woe to you, O earth and sea, for the devil has come down to you in fierce anger (fury), because he knows that he has only a short time left. Amp.
DEFINITIONS
Dwell -c) “skenoo” – to tent or encamp – to occupy as a mansion – to reside (as God did in the Tabernacles of old, a symbol of protection and communion.
This verse is saying that to be safe we need to be spiritually living in the heavenly realm because the devil is coming with a fierce agenda to hurt every one he can, because he knows the world is coming to an end.
The scripture is saying to be glad O heavens and you who dwell in them. This Greek word for dwell “skenoo” does not just mean to dwell. It is the same Greek word for “Tabernacles.” It is more of a spiritual nature and a spiritual tabernacle or temple of God.
It is saying if the Lord dwells in you and you dwell in Him, you are in the heavenly realm because you are seated next to Him.
Ephesians 2:6 And He raised us up together with Him and made us sit down together giving us joint seating with Him – in the heavenly sphere (by virtue of our being) in Christ Jesus the Messiah, the Anointed One. Amp.
The definition says when He resides with us it means protection and communion for us. That is reason for us to rejoice and be glad because we are safe and those who dwell on the earth are not.
The word for dwell in many other parts of Revelation is the Greek word “katoikeo” which just means to reside.
This is a very good explanation of the spiritual rapture. We must be living in the heavenly realm and seated next to Christ to be ready when He returns. Living in His presence and having communion with Him is our protection and a safe place in the last days.
