ROMANS 5

  1. Therefore, since we are justified – acquitted, declared righteous, through faith, let us (grasp the fact that we) have the peace of reconciliation to hold and to enjoy, peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, the Messiah, the Anointed One. Amp.

All of Chapter 5 of Romans is based on being justified. When we are justified, we rely on the Lord, we trust in the Lord, and we adhere to the Lord. All I can do is go by what the Lord requires of me.

I know how He feels about Trust. We must learn trust. He sends trials that show us where we place our trust. He knows where we place our trust.

We all have trust, but where do we place it. If we rely on man for help when we are in a crisis, that is where we are placing our trust.

When the Lord sends a trial we must endure a waiting period before the trial is over. There is always an amount of pain we must endure. That is what endurance is. The definition is that we learn to endure pain. If we run to the Doctor to stop the pain we are not enduring. That is the reason we go to the doctor.

There are reasons why we have the trial. We don’t know why our tooth hurts, we just want it to stop. It might hurt from eating the wrong thing. The root cause of our pain could be eating the wrong thing. But we run to get it pulled without knowing the root cause. So then we most probably will have another toothache.

This is how perfection works. He wants to change our behavior. But if we abort the trial by running to man for help, we will not be perfected. We must wait until we know the reason for our pain, repent and then receive our healing from the Lord.

The word justification means that we rely on Jesus for all of our needs not doctors or any other man, group or thing. If we run to stop the pain, we are not justified because we are not placing our trust in Jesus. This is very serious. There are many who wonder why their needs are not met. This may very well be the answer.

Romans 5:4 says endurance develops maturity of character or faith. We need to endure the trial or endure the pain, or we will not grow and mature. We cannot make it to the end without faith. Faith does not run to the doctor to stop the pain. It endures till the end.

Matthew 24:13 But he who endures to the end will be saved.
