PSALM 12
- Help, Lord; for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail among the children of men.
- They speak vanity everyone with his neighbor: with flattering lips and with a double heart do they speak. KJV
DEFINITIONS
Vanity -c) uselessness.
Double -c) double spirited; vacillating.
Vacillate -d) to waver; show indecision.
In Psalm 12 times are so bad, men speak destructively with others that make life look as if no good is left anywhere. Will the last days come to that?
James 1:8 A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.
James 4:8 Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners, and purify your hearts, ye double minded. KJV
The problem here is being double minded. A double minded person is hanging onto certain lies the enemy has spoken to cause doubts about the things of God that are vital. I believe it can cause a man to hang onto the things of this world that the enemy says is not wrong. You know everybody does it. The Lord understands. You need a break. Your life is just too hard. It won’t matter if you slack off a little.
Those are only a few of the lies we hear. As long as you believe they are lies, you are safe. It is when you start believing them that creates a double mind. We are to have the mind of Christ. He is always 100 percent. We are to be 100 percent. No wavering back and forth. We are to walk by faith with no doubting. Doubting is unbelief. Unbelief is basically calling God a liar and His truth not truth.
Being double minded will cause you to walk with one hand with the world because there are things you do not believe and are just not sure of. It is easy to be tempted because you are not sure it is wrong to do certain things or go certain places.
The whole key to serving the Lord is not that you know always what to do but you follow Him. That is where you are safe. He will never lead you into sin. We must pray and ask and ask and pray continually for His guidance and direction. And He is always faithful to lead us on.
