PSALM 8
- O Lord our Lord, how excellent is Thy name in all the earth! Who has set Thy glory above the heavens. KJV
DEFINITIONS
Glory -c) grandeur; beauty, comeliness, excellency, glorious, goodly, honor, majesty.
This says how wonderful is the Lord. How excellent is His name which means character. His whole self is perfect in every way. We see the definition of glory and can only be in awe of all that He is. And that is the glory that He sets above the earth, above the heavens. It is so high because it is too wonderful for us.
Even so, we must keep our eyes and focus on Jesus and His glory!
The praise of infants stills the enemy. We can look upon the heavens and just be in awe of how great He is. Then why would He put man in a spot of such importance to Him? He gives us dominion over the works of His hands. He puts them under our feet just like He did for Himself. Why would He do that? He is so very good, so much more than good!
He crowns us with glory and honor ignoring all our past failures. He sees only the good in us. And we most certainly should do the same of Him!
Then we should by all means cry out with all we are:
“O LORD, OUR LORD, HOW EXCELLENT IS THY NAME IN ALL THE EARTH!”
