PSALM 16:11
11. You will show me the path of Life; in Your presence is fullness of joy, at Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore.
Psalm 16 is one of the most comforting of the Psalms of David, especially verse 11. He is telling us that we can have the path of Life made clear to us. We do not automatically choose the right path every day. We must seek the Lord and ask Him the way He wants us to take.
We have many ideas that come to mind each day. Many are just thoughts. They are not all from Him. Some are temptations from the enemy. Some are desires of the flesh. Some are just a waste of time. Some are good but still may not be from the mind of Christ. They are all paths.
But which ones are the path of Life. Jesus is the Lord of Life. He has all the Keys to Life and death. But does He hold all the keys to our life? He does not go where He is not invited. He will not force His way into our life. He is waiting for our permission. He will sit back and watch us make all the wrong turns and decisions. He will just wait until we have had enough of ourselves and turn to Him for help.
We must come to that place in our life where we do not want to choose our own way and path. We have to admit to ourselves that there is something better and we have been missing it. He knows it and is waiting for us to give Him the Master key to all the rooms in all life. Not just one or two rooms but them all. He will wait for them all.
Then our words will be pleasing to Him. They will be respectful to Him and His will knowing that it is the best for us and life. It is also the safe place where there are pleasures forevermore! That is the ultimate perfect life and what He wants for each of us. Let us give Him the Master key to our life so He can lock up the wrong paths and show us the right one.
