ROMANS 8:18
18. For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. KJV
In my Streams in the Desert Daily Devotional, it talks about a man that had kept a flask shaped cocoon of an emperor moth for about a year. He watched as this little insect kept struggling to exit its little prison. He finally got impatient and used his scissors to cut the opening a tiny bit so it could escape.
But His impatience proved fatal for the little moth which crawled out dragging its huge swollen body and little shriveled wings. He said he watched as it crawled painfully through its brief life that should have been flying with rainbow wings.
This is an example of what happens when we grow impatient in the trials in our life that the Lord sends. There is always an opportunity for us to force our way out of them and escape. But then we will have to fly through our life with spiritually stunted wings that have not grown large enough to lift us up into the heavenly realm where we need to be.
We must learn to trust all of our life into God’s hands even when it seems we are stuck. The Lord knows what we need. He alone can open the way at the right time for us to emerge our painful plight with His rainbow wings of righteousness. He has a glorious end in view for us that we cannot see. Let us leave it in His perfect Hands.
Great story. 😊 We do often want to escape and miss the strength that we can gain from endurance and patience having her perfect work. Then we will be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. ❤️
