PSALM 147
2. The Lord is building up Jerusalem; He is gathering together the exiles of Israel.
3. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds -curing their pains and their sorrows. Amp.
Why does the Lord say that He is building up Jerusalem with the exiles? He takes them and remakes them. He does not remake those who will not be taught. The exiles like Nehemiah knew they had sinned and were ready to change. They wanted to rebuild the walls enough that they were willing to suffer for the task.
He builds up the brokenhearted after repentance and separation from this world. Then they must be willing to start over with their eyes open to Satan’s attacks and lies. And like Daniel, they must not defile themselves with the king’s dainty foods. Daniel ate only vegetables and water. We must, like Daniel draw a line and say this is wrong and too fleshly for me. I will be separate and not do what the world does.
And what happened to Daniel? He was found 10 times better than all the learned men of the whole realm and was assigned to stand before the king. That is what happens when we make that separation from all the world holds dear. We are allowed to stand before our King and that makes us filled with His Spirit. And His Spirit is more than 10 times better than all. Daniel was in exile when this occurred. Nehemiah and Esther were also before the king.
Then how does the Lord prepare the exiles to come home?
Jeremiah 29.12. Then you will call upon Me, and you will come and pray to Me, and I will hear and heed you.
13. Then you will seek Me, inquire for and require me (as a vital necessity) and find Me; when you search for Me with all your heart,
14. I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will release you from captivity and gather you from all the nations and all the places to which I have driven you, says the Lord, and I will bring you again to the place from which I caused you to be carried away captive. Amp.
The Lord knows what we need to make us, break us and mold us. Thank you Jesus for all you have done and are going to do!
