ZECHARIAH 12

2. Behold, I am about to make Jerusalem a cup or bowl of reeling to all the peoples round about, and against and upon Judah also it will be in the siege against Jerusalem. Amp.

There is always a spiritual definition and a physical definition of different things in the Bible. Here is a partial list:

  1. Israel
  2. Church
  3. Temple
  4. Circumcision
  5. Wealth
  6. Body
  7. Children
  8. Jerusalem
  9. Judah
  10. Jew

Romans 2:28-29 For he is not a (real ) Jew who is only one outwardly and publicly, nor is true circumcision something external and physical.

29. But he is a Jew who is one inwardly, and true circumcision is of the heart, a spiritual and not a literal matter. His praise is not from men but from God. Amp.

In the Old Testament most things were physical for the purpose of instruction. The Israelites were taught the Law and most of it is literal. When Jesus came and died on the cross, He opened up the Holy Place for man to enter spiritually where they had entered physically.

The Father made a New Covenant with Israel by the sacrifice of Jesus’ death on the cross. The old is obsolete, Hebrews 8:13. We see so many things are changed by the Blood of Jesus to a spiritual meaning instead of a literal or physical meaning.

Zechariah is talking about all who come against Jerusalem will be destroyed. Many interpret this as being only the physical city in Israel. They see all the unrest in that small country. They do not give spiritual Israel or Jerusalem a thought.

I am reading Jonathan Cahn’s newest book “The Josiah Manifesto.” I am still trying to grasp the full meaning. But the main thing he is saying is how so many Jewish events line up perfectly with recent US events that change the course of this country and how it will all turn out.

We will see the Lord defend spiritual Jerusalem in the last days and destroy many nations because they came against spiritual Jerusalem in some way. It is time to discern a real Jew and give them the respect and honor the Lord wants for them.

Genesis 27:29 Let peoples serve you, and nations bow down to you; be master over your brothers and let your mother’s sons bow down to you. Let everyone be cursed who curses you, and favored with blessings who blesses you. Amp.
