PSALM 16

I love Psalm 16. It has so much wisdom in it. And so many blessings.

It starts out with David placing his trust and hiding himself in God. We all have trust, and we must be careful where we place it. Trust is something that is learned in time. When my daughter got sick at the age of 10 with Juvenile Onset Diabetes, my trust was all over the place. I knew in my head what to do but I had fear and that is not trust. I prayed for 15 years and at the age of 25 she died after 11 months on Dialysis.

Diabetes is based on fear. We were afraid of her blood sugar being too high and her going into a coma. We were afraid of it being too low and her going into convulsions. I thought if I prayed every day and was obedient that she would be healed.

I did not even think about my trust and where I placed it. The Lord healed her of so many other things. I just did not understand why He did not heal her. But now I can look back and see so many things I did wrong just because I was young in the Lord. He knew all along what I needed and was teaching me every day. I could not see it then.

I now know she is with Him, and it is okay. She went into a coma on my Spiritual daughter Cheryl’s birthday. And I knew He was saying to me, “You take care of Cheryl, and I will take care of Melanie.” Cheryl has been with me since that day, and I could not ask for a better daughter than her. He knew what I needed and gave me Cheryl! I am so very thankful for her. I cannot imagine life without her.

Psalm 16:5 The Lord is my chosen and assigned portion, my cup; you hold and maintain my lot.

6. The lines are fallen for me in pleasant places; yes, I have a good heritage.

7. I will bless the Lord Who has given me counsel; yes, my heart instructs me in the night seasons. Amp.

The Lord has chosen my cup and maintains it and it is good. Even when I could not see the good, He was working. He has never ceased from giving me counsel especially in the hardest of times.

I can look back at the hardest 2 funerals I will ever go to. I had to take Jesus by the hand and hold on so tight. And He was there and got me through every impossible moment. And I learned that I had a wonderful Lord and Savior who would always be there for me no matter what. I love Him so very much and am thankful for it all!!!
