JOHN 14
21. The person who has My commands and keeps them is the one who really loves Me, and whoever really loves Me will be loved by My Father. And I too will love him and will show (reveal manifest) Myself to him — I will let Myself be clearly seen by him and make Myself real to him. Amp.
23. Jesus answered, If a person really loves Me, he will keep My Word – obey My teaching; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home (abode special dwelling place) with him. Amp.
The Lord is testing us to see what it is that we want. He is the best there is, but we must die to our own self-interests – as we lay down our life putting our feet upon the rock. One of the hardest things there is, is to come out from the world and be separate.
Years ago, when my kids were smaller, we used to go on vacations and out to eat. I used to get these terrible migraine headaches. They hurt so bad that I just had to go to bed and try my best to go to sleep. When I woke up the pain was always gone. But they were so painful and only came when we went somewhere. I always prayed about where we went. This was my answer.
He did not want me going these places. I could have gone to the doctor and found a way to hang onto my life with medication. My family was not too happy with my decision. But I really wanted more of Jesus. He really does come and reveal Himself. And I did not miss going places. The only place I wanted to be was alone with Him. He is so wonderful.
I know these verses are true because of what He has done for me. But it is sad to say not many people share what I have been given. Many I know are still growing. Many I know just don’t believe they are holding onto things they need to let go of.
So many people are living below where Jesus wants them to be because of this world. When He says to be separate, He means it. The key to it all is “the person who really loves me.” What or Who do you love the most? That is the answer.
