“WE MUST WALK BY FAITH” BIBLE STUDY OCTOBER 18, 2023

REVELATION 16:15

15. Lo, I am going to come like a thief! Blessed – happy, to be envied – is he who stays awake (alert) and who guards his clothes so that he may not be naked and have the shame of being seen exposed. Amp.

This is talking about the spiritual clothing of the spirit. In 2 Corinthians 5:7 we are told to walk by faith and not by sight. This is where we must have the right focus. If we are always waiting for something bad to happen then we are not believing His promise. We are to focus on the good because that is His will for us.

I just did some work in my garage. I cleaned out a lot of stuff I did not need. I did some painting, and it looks so much better. I began this job because I believed the Lord told me to. I fussed the whole time. I kept saying that it was too hard, and it did not matter. I don’t use it any more so why do all that work.

He kept telling me to focus on how it would look when I was finished and not to look at how hard it was to do and that He would help me. And He did. Some things I had no strength to move but He helped me to move them. And I am amazed at the results. I had to walk by faith and focus on how good it was going to look.

That is what the scripture is telling us. We must not see the difficulties of the circumstances in our life. We are to focus on the end result after the Lord answers our prayers. That is one reason it takes so long for our prayer to be answered. He wants us to be clothed with the Holy Spirit. That is where our safety lies.

We must learn to be positive and thankful. That is a good attitude for us. We are natural complainers. He wants us to be happy and not to let this world get us down. If we walk by faith, we are filled with hopeful courage because of our relationship with the Lord. This is well pleasing to Him and the work of the Holy Spirit.
