JEREMIAH 31
31. Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the House of Israel and with the House of Judah.
32. Not according to the covenant which I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke although I was their Husband, says the Lord ;
33. But this shall be the new covenant that I will make with the house of Israel: After those days, says the Lord, I will put My law within them, and on their hearts will I write it; and I will be their God and they shall be My people. Amp.
What is the New Covenant but Jesus. He is the way truth and the life, no one come to the Father except through Him. Jesus is the High Priest who went into the Holy of Holies with us in mind and paid the price for us only He could pay. He is the one and only perfect spotless sacrifice.
Hebrews 8:13 When God speaks of a new covenant or agreement, He makes the first one obsolete -out of use. And what is obsolete -out of use and annulled because of age – is ripe for disappearance and to be dispensed with altogether.
You cannot claim the rights of having a covenant with the Father without keeping your part of the agreement. Israel did not keep their part of the agreement. So, God wrote a new one. He made Jesus the way to Him. The only way to Him. Then He made the old covenant He made with the Jewish people obsolete and over. They are like anyone else in this world. If they do not recognize Jesus as the Son of God Who died for their sins, then they are no longer “The Chosen People.”
Matthew 23:36 Truly, I declare unto you, all these evil, calamitous times will come upon this generation.
37. O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, murdering the prophets and stoning those who are sent to you! How often would I have gathered your children together as a mother fowl gathers her brood under her wings, and you refused!
38. Behold, your house is forsaken and desolate – abandoned and left destitute of God’s help.
39. For I declare to you, you will not see Me again until you say, “Blessed – magnified in Worship, adored and exalted – be He Who comes in the name of the Lord!”
Yes, we are to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. But let us make sure we are praying for the right Jerusalem. If you reject Jesus, you are lost and cannot be a partaker of the New Covenant. That is the bottom line, the truth and the Word of God.
The last days are prophesied to be the worst days that have ever been on this earth. Jesus is the only safe place for all mankind.
