PSALM 150:6
6. Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord, Praise ye the Lord. KJV
We enter into His courts with thanksgiving in our hearts and into His courts with praise. This is the directions He gives us. Praise is not to be omitted. We must sing the hard fast ones first. We must praise first when we sing to the Lord. The word praise is in the Psalms 51 times just in Psalms 145 – 150. That means it is important to the Lord.
There is power in praise. It is like thanksgiving. When we begin to offer up thanksgiving instead of complaining darkness starts to leave. It is the same when we begin to praise the Lord. Chains fall off and prisoners are freed (Acts 16:25-26).
The Lord tells us in Psalm 5 and 68 to be in high spirits. He does not want us to be sad. If we murmur and complain of our hard situation He will not hear us. We are to lift our voice and sing of His mighty goodness. We will not be sad for long!
He is looking for worshippers. Everyone has the freedom to choose what he loves and worships. He will not force us to love and worship Him. It must come from honest willing hearts.
He makes it very appealing with many benefits. It is based on the reaping and sowing principle. What we give to Him in praise and worship comes back to us. He fills us with His love and presence. His presence always brings power and protection.
We have heard that a prayerless person is a powerless person. The same is true in praise and worship. There is power in the life of a worshipper. Prayer and praise go together. The devil hates them both. He will do everything he can to stop you from both. He knows you will have power over him.
