THE DEVASTATING FIRES IN HAWAII 08/2023

JOEL 2:3 A fire devours before them and behind them a flame burns; the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yes, and none has escaped the ravages of the devouring hordes. Amp.

PSALM 97:3-6 Fire goes before Him and burns up His adversaries round about. 4. His lightnings illumine the world; the earth sees and trembles. 5. The hills melted like wax at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth. 6. The heavens declare His righteousness, and the peoples see His glory.

It is heartbreaking to see the devastation in Hawaii. It may take a while to get to the bottom of all this. I have not seen many reports. But I have seen enough. The witnesses I heard said there was no power, no sirens and phone service was spotty but mostly not working. They saw gray smoke one day. The next day it was black and too late to get out safely. They had to go by their gut one witness said.

One couple jumped in the water and had flames on their back. They were trying to save those who were crying out for help but could not save them all. They lost everything with no warning. What does this mean to the Christian?

I have been teaching lately from the Psalms about seeking God’s face, His presence and His voice. David was always the example. His life was always about His relationship with the Lord. He was always seeking guidance and protection from his enemies. We know he was a man of prayer and communion with the Father.

If the Lord is our refuge, He promises to lead us and protect us. But how many just pray and read their Bible and go their own way thinking they are protected without any sure Word from the Lord? Seeking God’s face means to seek and hear from Him personally. How many rely on their cell phones and the Media for warnings of any kind?

We must have daily conversation with Him. This means after prayer and Bible study you wait upon the Lord in stillness opening up your heart to hear Him speak to you. It takes time to learn. We need His guidance and direction every day. If only those in Hawaii had daily communion with the Father they would have been warned. I have been saying it and this is proof that the Lord is speaking to His Church.

There must be no idols before Him, or you will not know which voice is speaking to you. There are spirits that go with the TV and cell phones that only breed confusion. You must make the choice of what really matters. It could be life or death.

We know we are in the last days. It is only going to get worse. There are countless scriptures that warn of fires in the last days. Joel 2:3 is what happened in Hawaii. The only difference is there were survivors to tell their story. The Lord is warning His people and saying it is time to seek His face, presence and voice.

When the Lord comes back with His fire and judgment, there will be no survivors. His people will be in the cleft of the rock safely in His presence worshipping Him without any cell phones or Media!
