PSALM 3

  1. Lord, how are they increased that trouble me! Many are they that rise up against me.
  2. Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah.
  3. But thou, O Lord art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head. KJV

We have an enemy that wants nothing more than to stop us from keeping our eyes on Jesus. That is the key to faith. Without faith we cannot please or be satisfactory to God. So, the devil will do whatever he can to shoot those arrows at our faith.

So, what is faith?

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. KJV

Faith is what is not revealed to the senses. We do not see Jesus with our physical eyes. But we are to keep our spiritual eyes on Him always. We know that His Word and promises are true. We must put our eyes on truth. We must believe beyond a doubt His love for us. His love is the motivating factor that causes us to obey and serve Him. That is where we must have faith, or we won’t make it.

Satan will continue to shoot his flaming darts of lies at His beloved until He returns. We must decide how we are going to believe.

We must put our faith in all that Jesus is and all He has done to make a way for us. Our victory lies in all that He is. We are to get our strength and power to overcome only from Him. Too many times Satan will cause you to rely on your own wisdom and “greatness” which does not exist.

If you look within yourself for the strength to get up every morning and pray and serve Him, pretty soon you will fail. Jesus paid the price for us because we have no ability to serve him on our own. So, then there is no reason for boasting or pride. If we get all of our resources from Jesus, we are humbled by His great love that He suffered so much so we could become victorious.

We all have faith. Just what is it that we are putting our faith in? Is it in ourselves or in man or in the riches of this world? All of these cannot save you. Jesus must be our all in all. He is the only way.

We were all a product of natural sin from the sins of Adam and Eve. No one was born without sin accept Jesus. It was His job to come to this world and justify mankind or make them not guilty. He took on our sins and paid the debt that we could never pay. He justified mankind on the basis of faith. Faith in Jesus is the only way to become justified or pronounced, “Not Guilty.”

Romans 3:20 For no person will be justified, made righteous, acquitted and judged acceptable – in His sight by observing the works prescribed by the Law…

Romans 3:26 It was to demonstrate and prove at the present time that He Himself is righteous and that He justifies and accepts as righteous him who has true faith in Jesus.

Romans 3:27 Then what becomes of our pride and our boasting? It is excluded – banished, ruled out entirely. On what principle? On the principle of doing good deeds? No, but on the principle of faith.

And what is the faith the Father is looking for in our hearts? Only in the faith and trust of Jesus will anyone ever be saved from damnation. He gave us Jesus and the power of His Holy Spirit to give us the resources to get us through this life and all the flaming darts and accusations of the enemy.

Jesus will forever and ever be the only way!
