REVELATION 14:7
7. Saying with a loud voice, Fear god, and give glory to Him; for the hour of His judgment is come: and worship Him that made heavens, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of water. KJV
The angel is announcing that the hour of judgment has arrived. Then He gives the most needed instruction that will see us through and protect us. He says, “Worship Him.” You would think he would say repent or take shelter. But that is exactly what happens when we “Worship God!”
In the last days there is so much idolatry. People are lovers of self more than lovers of God. The media controls the minds of most people. We must give Him first place and that means your time is not your own. It belongs to Him, and you do His will. He will not lead you in front of a screen for relaxation or self-absorption. We grow a lot in 1 hour of prayer and just being alone with Him. And He will lead us thus.
Isaiah 28:15 when the overflowing scourge passes through, it will not come to us; for we have made lies our refuge, and in falsehood we have taken shelter.
The Israelites refused to believe that God would bring judgment on His people. They were not prepared when it came and lost their temple. All their sources of confidence failed them, vs. 20. So today the Lord will bring judgment in ways that will wake up His people and sweep away the refuge of lies, vs. 17.
Joel 2:11 for the day of the Lord is great and very terrible, and who can endure it?
It is time to Worship the Lord putting Him first and spending time alone with Him. He is worthy of all our love and praise.
