PSALM 133

  1. Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for the brethren to dwell together in unity.
  2. It is like the precious ointment poured on the head, that ran down on the beard of Aaron (the first high priest), that came down upon the collar and skirts of his garments (consecrating the whole body);
  3. Like the dew of (lofty) Mount Hermon, and the dew that comes on the hills of Zion; for there the Lord has commanded the blessing, even life forevermore (upon the high and the lowly). Amp.

DEFINITIONS

Unity -c) alike, join, to become one.

Unity -d) a state of being united, harmony, agreement, oneness, constancy or continuity of purpose, action.

The Lord is always working to make us one. His will He prayed in John 17 was for us to be One like Him and the Father were One. He wants us to be following His example by not compromising in any way. We must not compromise the Word of God and allow disobedience to consume the fruit.

We must learn to be examples of holiness while walking in obedience to the Spirit speaking only when the opportunity arises and never forcing our own way or pointing the finger.

We must try to have the gentleness of Jesus and His love which never inflicts pain. That is a very hard thing to do. But we must remember the times we messed up and how gently the Lord picked us up and led us on.

The purpose of the Body of Christ is always of the Spirit and not the flesh. All are not on the same level or age. So there will always be some differences. How they are handled is the key. We must always take them to the Lord in prayer asking for guidance.

He will supply our every need. He will guide us and give us patience and wisdom with those who may be out of step with the Holy Spirit. He will also give us the opportunity to speak the words that no one wants to hear. There are times of testing when we must choose to offend those we love and put the Lord first. Are we willing to step on some toes and rock the boat?

Jesus and the prophets and apostles said many words that were not the popular thing to say. They were sent to speak the Word no matter the consequences but always in love. However, there were times the Lord called the Pharisees vipers.
