ISAIAH 41:17-18
17. When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the Lord will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them.
18. I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry lands springs of water. KJV
When Isaiah talks about the wilderness, He is speaking about Revelation 12:12-14. He sees their spiritual need and sends the Holy Spirit to fill them. This is also Isaiah 35.
In Revelation 12 the inhabitants of the earth are under judgment. The 3rd woe has just happened. If they do not dwell in the heavenlies or in God’s presence, they will end up in the midst of the plagues. We must make Him our everything. Our time with Him must give us that sense of His presence filling us up with the water of the Holy Spirit.
Rev. 12:14 says the woman is supplied with 2 wings of a giant eagle to give her the strength to fly away from the serpent. She flies from the presence of the serpent in the wilderness to a place of safety where she is to be kept safe.
These two wings are the water in the rivers that He has just filled up. It is also in Isaiah 35. He will be in our wilderness and if we allow Him, He will lift us up where we are safe.
It is about where our spirit dwells. If we are discouraged all the time, then we are not in His presence. You cannot be discouraged when you are with Him. He requires faith. Faith is always believing in the good ending He has for us. It does not look at the desolation all around.
ISAIAH 35:1 The wilderness and solitary place shall be glad for them and the desert shall blossom as the rose.
They shall be in the desert which is so desolate nothing can grow or ever bloom. But now there is water, and all becomes brand new. The Lord does a miracle for His people who are trusting Him. He supplies every need and turns things upside down. The last are now first. Only He can do such a wonder!
