PSALM 34:1-4
- I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
- My life makes its boast in the Lord; let the humble and afflicted hear and be glad.
- O magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together.
- I sought (inquired of) for the Lord, and required Him of necessity, and on the authority of His Word), and He heard me and delivered me from all my fears.
This life is a testing ground. We all must learn the ways of the Lord before we can move up higher. He wants us to learn faith. It is easy to bless the Lord when all is well. Verse 1 says that I will bless the Lord at all times. If His praise is continually in my mouth, then it never leaves or stops. Do we get discouraged at times? The answer is yes, we all do at times get discouraged.
David is saying that his life has been blessed and therefore there is a reason to be glad. It is always about our focus. When problems arise, we tend to look too intently at the problems and try to reason our way out of them. But that is not the way of the Lord. That is the way of fear and unbelief. We must know He allowed it for our good and be positive.
Verse 3 is saying that David will magnify the Lord and come and do so with me. Praise and thanksgiving are the first steps out of any trouble. Then he seeks out the presence of the Lord to discuss his needs with him because he needs to talk to his father to ask for help.
After David does each of these steps in verses 1-4, he says, “and He heard me and delivered me from all my fears.” I pray Psalm 34:4 every day. I am reminding Him that it is His job to deliver me from any fear I may have. That is what He wants. He does not want us to try to fix ourselves. He wants us to know that job is just too big for us. He is the only one who can help.
Who is our refuge? Who do we rely on? Who or what do we lean on when we are troubled? David sought the Lord, and he heard him and delivered him from not one but all of his fears. Have we ever been able to fight fear on our own victoriously? I know I have not been able.
I have been warning about the earthquake and volcano activity for a long time. The book of Revelations warns of a great earthquake 3 times. I just read a report that a hole or crack was found in the Pacific Ocean on the 600-mile fault line of the Cascadia Subduction Zone. This is under the Cascadia Mountain Range in California which is the home to more than 20 volcanos of which also I have been warning about.
This hole is spewing Fault Lubricant which will make the plates move a lot easier making for a very dangerous situation. The experts are on high alert and fear this crack spewing this hot liquid could trigger an “apocalyptic earthquake,” (their words not mine). This could not be in a more dangerous place.
Underneath the ground is full of volcanic activity. And not so far away is the Yellowstone Super volcano. All of this is connected underground and will one day explode. This country has been on the brink of judgment for decades. If or when this happens how will it affect you?
Will you be able to bless the Lord through it all if there is no food in the stores, if there is no job to go to, if there are only morbid reports from the media continuously?
Now is the time to praise and be thankful for the trials we have today for soon they will be impossible to bear without supernatural help from above.
PSALM 34:17 When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears and delivers them out of all their distress and troubles.
