ISAIAH 12:5-6

5. Sing praises to the Lord, for He has done excellent things – gloriously: let this be made known, in all the earth.

6. Cry aloud and shout joyfully, you women and inhabitants of Zion, for great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel. Amp.

DEFINITIONS

Excellent -d) unusually good of its kind; of exceptional merit, virtue, etc.

Gloriously -d) splendid; magnificent; very delightful and enjoyable.

Great -d) much above the ordinary or average in some quality or degree; existing in a high degree; intense.

Shout -d) a loud sudden cry or outburst.

This chapter 12 is after 11 which is talking about after He returns and restores His justice and goodness. The wolf shall dwell with the lamb, and no one shall hurt or destroy in all of His holy mountain, for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea (vs.9). How wonderful!

He starts setting His people free and seats them with Him up and out of danger. They are experiencing victories as never before. The devil is defeated. And it is time to shout for joy! for He has truly done excellent things.

When He is in the midst of His people things change. They are so good. They are glorious. They are Excellent. They are so very great that it brings a great shout that none can withhold. Things are great because He is great. He is excellent. He is glorious.

We are to shout and make His praise known in all the earth. We are to shout and not be silent. We are to make loud sudden outbursts of His praise. This is what He is telling us to do. How many tomorrow at their churches will actually shout aloud of His greatness? Sad to say, not many.

I know He has done great things for me, and I will do my best to “Cry aloud and shout joyfully for Great in our midst is the Holy One of Israel!”

PSALM 145:3 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised: and His greatness is unsearchable.
