ISAIAH 60:17
17. Instead of bronze I will bring gold, and instead of iron I will bring silver; and for wood, bronze, and for stones, iron. (Instead of tyranny of the present) I will appoint peace as your officers and righteousness as your taskmasters. Amp.
Isaiah 60 is all about rising to the new life the Lord has given. He speaks about spiritual prosperity as well as physical prosperity. He is making what they have valuable. He did the same thing in Solomon’s day. 1 Kings 10:27 The king made silver as common as stones…
All the prosperity of Solomon’s day did not really help them spiritually. They ended up serving and worshiping the gods of other nations. They lost the great temple and were taken captive by the enemy. But the Lord allowed it for their good, Jeremiah 24:5.
Isaiah 60 is not only about physical prosperity but also about spiritual prosperity. He gives peace and righteousness. He is changing all to good. He goes on to say no more violence but salvation and praise.
He changes their sunlight into the Light of the Son of God for their beauty and their glory. He ends their mourning giving them everlasting joy. All their enemies will bow before them and call them the City of the Lord.
In other words, He makes Jerusalem the head and not the tail. When He comes to set up His kingdom all will go up to Mount Zion which Is Jerusalem and learn about the Lord. All nations will bring them their treasures. He shares His glory and honor with them.
ROMANS 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose. KJV
We see His plan has always been for our good!
