PSALM 19:14

14. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable) in thy sight, O Lord, my strength and my redeemer. KJV

We always want to be pleasing to the Lord in every way. I believe one of the hardest things there is to do is say all the right words. So many of our words need to remain unspoken. Our heart is easier because it is so hard to know. We have to listen to our words.

ISAIAH 58:13-14

13. If you turn away your foot from traveling unduly on the sabbath, from doing your own pleasure on My holy day, and call the sabbath a spiritual delight, the holy day of the Lord, honorable: and shall honor Him and it, not going your own way or seeking or finding your own pleasure or speaking with your own idle words.

14. Then shall you delight yourself in the Lord, and I will make you to ride on the high places of the earth, I will feed you with the heritage (promised for you to) Jacob your father; for the mouth of the Lord has spoken it.

This comes at the end of the fasting chapter, Isaiah 58. If you fast the chosen fast of the Lord and accomplish His will for you, you will receive the best blessing there is. We all think fasting is so hard, that we are much happier when we can eat plenty and be satisfied. But that is only our carnal thinking.

The Lord knows what we need. If we place it all in His hands, we will come out with blessings we could never have dreamed of. He will cause us to ride on the high places. That is where He is, so far above this earth where the heavenly joys are enjoyed. These are joys we have never experienced.

He is telling us to give up our will and not seek our own pleasure, go our own way or speak our own words. This sounds so harsh and yet it is the key to everlasting life and His sabbath rest. Our words are a very big part of this blessing. We need to learn to rest our tongue.

He will feed us, and we will be truly satisfied for the first time in our life. There is nothing that compares to His table. Then we can receive the heritage of Jacob in Genesis 27:28-29, and 28:13-15. These are the ultimate blessings.
