“O THAT WE MIGHT SEE SOME GOOD!” DAY OF THE LORD JANUARY 18, 2023

PSALM 4:6

6. Many say, O that we might see some good! Lift up the light of Your countenance upon us, O Lord. Amp.

DEFINITIONS

Good -d) having the proper qualities; efficient, beneficial, fresh, valid, honorable, enjoyable, dependable, thorough, adequate, healthy, virtuous, etc.

These are just a few of the words that would describe the word for good. The actual definition is too long to post here. This is the heart of the Lord for His people. He wants good for all of us.

ROMANS 8:28

28. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are called according to His purpose. KJV

This is so very important to the Lord for us to believe. He wants good for us. The devil wants us to believe that something is always around the corner to bring disaster in our lives. But that is the way to fear. We are not supposed to fear.

The problem is in our thinking. We are to be renewed in our mind, (Romans 12:2). We are to have a new attitude because we have been transformed and made into new creations in Christ Jesus.

He wants us to walk in faith believing and focused on the good things He has for us. This keeps us positive. Depression gets people into a dangerous place that can end up with all kinds of physical ailments. Satan works on the mind. If we believe what he says, it is the beginning of darkness.

If we walk hand in hand with the Lord, worshipping and praying, He will lift up His countenance upon us. There is power when He sets His eyes upon us.

JUDGES 6:14

14. And the Lord looked upon him, and said, “Go in this thy might, and thou shalt save Israel from the hand of the Midianites: have I not sent thee?

When the Lord looked upon Gideon, there was a transfer of power from the Lord to Gideon that would save Israel from their enemies. We are to seek His countenance so we can have that power in our lives and overcome the enemy. It began in Gideon’s thinking also. We must look at the good He wants to do and not the bad we have been through.

PSALM 84:11

11. For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly. KJV
