“A GREAT EARTHQUAKE” DAY OF THE LORD JANUARY 17, 2023

NAHUM 1:7

7. The Lord is good, a strength and stronghold in the day of trouble; He knows – recognizes, has knowledge of and understands – those who take refuge and trust in Him.

The last days will be the end of the heavens and the earth. We will need all the supernatural strength that comes from the Holy Spirit as we seek Him for our refuge. Our trust has to be in Him and not in this world.

Nahum 1:5-6

5. The mountains tremble and quake before Him and the hills melt away, and the earth is upheaved at His presence, yes, the world and all that dwell in it.

6. Who can stand before His indignation? And who can stand up and endure the fierceness of His anger? His wrath is poured out like fire, and the rocks are broken asunder by Him.

In Revelation 6:12 there is a great earthquake before the sun and moon are darkened and the stars fall. In Joel 2:30, it says, “I will show signs and wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and columns of smoke. KJV says, “pillars of smoke.”

Columns or pillars of smoke could occur when volcanoes erupt, shooting the lava up into the air. The Yellowstone Super volcano is a perfect setting for such an event.

Isaiah 29:6 You shall be visited and delivered by the Lord of hosts with thunder and with earthquake and great noise, with whirlwind and tempest and the flame of a devouring fire.

It says in Rev. 6:14, that after all this activity, “every mountain is dislodged from its place.” then at the end of the pouring of the vials it says in Rev. 16:20, “And every island fled, and no mountains could be found.” Think of what is happening to the mountains between chapters 6 and 16. A lot of earth shaking!

If the Yellowstone Super Volcano erupted and caused a great earthquake which would be in the area close to many other volcanoes, think of all the cracks in the earth from the on-going rumbling. The whole earth is shaking causing all the mountains to move.

Isaiah 24:18-20 talks about the noise and the foundation of the earth tremble and shake. The earth is shaken so violently that it falls like a broken eggshell. It shall fall and not rise again.

This will happen soon and only those who trust in Him as their refuge will be saved from His wrath. We must learn to go to Him for all of our needs now before it is too late.
