1 CORINTHIANS 2:16

16. For who has known or understood the mind (the counsels and purposes) of the Lord so as to guide and instruct (Him) and give Him knowledge? But we have the mind of Christ, the Messiah, and do hold the thoughts (feelings and purposes) of His heart. Amp.

DEFINITIONS

Purposes -d) something one intends to get or do; aim; determination.

This chapter in 1 Corinthians chapter 2 is telling us that we can understand the “Mind of Christ,” by knowing Him and His thoughts which would be His purposes and feelings.

How do we know what His purpose might be? Anytime we are seeking His will for our lives, we are asking for His thoughts. We have the mind of Christ if we have Him dwelling inside of us. He is willing to share His will with us as we ask for direction.

This is all done by the Holy Spirit. We can only learn what He desires for us to learn. He is holding back so much of Himself for when we get to be with Him in heaven. Then He will take His time sharing His knowledge with us as we get to know Him more and more.

PROVERBS 16:3

3. Roll your works upon the Lord — commit and trust them wholly to Him: He will cause your thoughts to become-agreeable to His will, and so shall your plans be established and succeed.

This is telling us to commit what we do to Him. If we give up our will giving Him control, He will cause us to be in one accord and harmony with Him. That is what we want if we are to be successful in anything we do.

There have been many times for me when I did not know what to do. I would go to Him and tell Him all about my situation and end it with, “Please don’t let me do this if it is not your will for Me.”

And I know many times He made my way perfect, so I did not stumble. He wants us to know that He is much wiser than we are, and we need Him to lead us through this dark world. Without Him we will get into many messes.

PSALM 121:7

7. The Lord will keep you from all evil; He will keep your life.
