MATTHEW 6:1
- Take care not to do your good deeds publicly or before men in order to be seen by them; otherwise, you will have no reward (reserved for and awaiting you) with and from your Father Who is in heaven. Amp.
When Jesus returns, He comes with recompense. He will give His rewards. So, we want to know what is expected. Any time we are giving in any way, it must be in secret. We should never tell how much we give or pray or do. It must be in secret, or our reward will be the attention from man, period!
We do not want to be like the hypocrites and blow a trumpet, letting all see “how great we are.” This means that we should find a way to do it in secret. Then we will receive our reward in the open. The Lord will come back in the end and will give to all what their deeds deserve, and all will see.
Our prayers should not multiply words using the same ones over and over again. He wants us to pray the prayer from our hearts. Not a rehearsed speech but a heartfelt cry from our hearts. It is not about the length as much as it is from the heart!
We want to gather up treasures in heaven. If our treasure is in heaven or Jesus, it will come out in all we do. He will be the focus and not this world.
Great word.
I am encouraged by how you live that Mathew 6 vs1.
