“WORSHIP GOD” DAY OF THE LORD DECEMBER 17, 2022

REVELATION 14:7

7. And he cried with a mighty voice, “Revere God and give him glory (honor and praise in worship), for the hour of His judgment has arrived. Fall down before Him; pay Him homage and adoration and worship Him Who created heaven and earth, the sea and the springs (foundations) of water. Amp.

DEFINITIONS

Homage -d) anything given or done to show the reverence, honor etc. in which a person is held.

Worship -d) to show religious reverence for; to have intense love or admiration for.

Babylon -c) Confusion, to overflow, to mix, fodder (feed for cattle not sheep).

This angel is stressing the point of worship at this critical time because Babylon is getting ready to fall in the next verse. Why is worship so important at this time?

REVELATION 18:4

4. And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, “Come out of her, My people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.” KJV

Babylon is a spiritual city as is Jerusalem and Mount Zion. Babylon is accused of causing all nations to drink the wine of her fornication or idolatry. In other words, this is a warning to lay down all idols or you will end up suffering her plagues. Idolatry is loving something more than God. He must have pre-eminence or first place.

If the leaders put things before God so will their sheep.

EZEKIEL 44:12

12. Because (the priests) ministered to the people before their idols and became a stumbling block of iniquity and guilt to the house of Israel, therefore I have lifted up My hand and have sworn against them, says the Lord God, that they shall bear the punishment for their iniquity and guilt.

13. And they shall not come near to Me to do the office of a priest to Me…

This is showing the punishment for idolatry. It is separation from God. The angel is saying “Worship God.” It is time to love the Lord first. If there is a separation you will feel it. It is time to get alone with the Lord and talk about it and repent of all idols and ask for more of the Holy Spirit to give the needed help.

We must pay homage only to the Lord. What do you pay homage to or who do you serve? We all do someone’s will whether it be our own, another person’s or the Lord’s. Then what is it that we do for them or ourselves that is homage? It shows honor. We should honor only the Lord because He alone is worthy of all honor.

The Greek definition of Babylon is to mix, meaning when we mix the world with Christianity, there is an unholy mixture. There is confusion and not a clear word from the Lord to be led by the Holy Spirit. There is an overflow which I believe shows many of the Mega Churches have an overflow of attendance because of a watered-down easy Gospel. Many flock to an easy ticket to heaven.

The angel is saying to Worship God! That is the key to coming out of Babylon. We must love Him with all our heart, all our mind and all our strength – our everything!
