PSALM 145:20-21
20. The Lord preserves all those who love Him, but all the wicked will He destroy.
21. My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord, and gratefully praise – His holy name for ever and ever. Amp.
Many times, in Psalms and the Bible does it say the wicked will be destroyed. How do we know who the wicked are? We may easily define them as the murderers, rapists, drug pushers, thieves, pedophiles and the list go on. But what does the Bible say?
ROMANS 2:8
8. But for those who are self-seeking and self-willed and disobedient to the Truth but responsive to wickedness, there will be indignation and wrath.
We are all born with a sin nature. We are all self-seeking and self-willed. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. So, we are all in danger of the wrath of God. What is the answer?
Jesus died so we could have a comforter, the Holy Spirit. He said, the Holy Spirit gives life but the flesh profiteth nothing. We must be born again of the Spirit. We must still choose to be obedient to the Truth which is the Word of God. We must give up our will and selfishness. We must die to self and allow the Holy Spirit full reign in our life. He will lead us into all truth when the flesh leads us to death, Romans 8:6-8.
The Holy Spirit will lead us to a life of Worship and Praise. He always points the way to Jesus for us to love Him with all that we are. Then we will be preserved because He loves us!
We do not live by the Law as in the Old Testament. There will always be something that will cause us to fail. We must now live by faith in Jesus and look to the Holy Spirit to guide and lead us every day. We will only make it by His grace through faith in Jesus. If we follow the Lamb instead of our will, He will lead us to life, Romans 3:20-31.
