EPHESIANS 4:23
23. And be constantly renewed in the spirit of your mind – having a fresh mental and spiritual attitude:
We are to put off the old nature and put on the new nature. The old man is to be crucified with Christ but still live this life in Christ. What does it mean to be crucified with Christ? We know that it is a spiritual meaning.
We are to allow the old sinful self and its desires to die with Jesus. We are with Him and that makes us able to die. We are changed because of His presence within us. It makes us want the right things, Jesus being our strongest desire.
When we resist the devil and the sinful nature, it dies. It is like having a plant. If you do not water it, it will die. We must feed living things. As we resist, the flesh gets weaker, and the Spirit gets stronger in the Lord.
We know that joy makes things better. We can flow with the Spirit when we are happy. So, we must resist the lies of the enemy. He is always speaking the negative lies to us that if we believe them can be wreck our faith. We must be positive and thankful to grow.
PSALM 31:14-15
14. But I trusted, relied on and was confident in You, O Lord I said, You are my God.
15. My times are in Your hand: deliver me from the hand of my foes…
