11 CORINTHIANS 3:18
18. But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. KJV
Glass -c) behold as in a glass.
Glory -c) Dignity, honor, praise, worship.
Changed -c) to transform, “metamorphose,” change, transfigure, transform.
We are told to fix our gaze on the Lord and as we do, we will be changed or transformed. We are living in the last days when His presence is stronger than at any other time. We know that we were created in His image and when we are in heaven, we will be like Him. So, it makes sense that He is changing us now to prepare us.
28. Now when these things begin to occur, look up and lift up your head because your redemption (deliverance) is drawing near. Amp.
This verse is talking about the last days. We are to put our eyes on Jesus. He is telling us to lift up our eyes and look at Him then we will be delivered or changed. During our worship we must learn to block out all thoughts that invade our worship. That is the best time to focus on the Lord.
We are to come before Him with thanksgiving in our heart and into His courts with praise. We are to keep our eyes on Him as we worship, then as the end draws closer, we will be changed by Him as we look upon Him. What a delightful exercise we have been given. We are changed from one degree of glory to another meaning dignity and honor, praise and worship.
