- After this I heard what sounded like a mighty shout of a great crowd in heaven, exclaiming, Hallelujah — praise the Lord! Salvation and glory (splendor and majesty) and power (dominion and authority belong) to God. Amp.
Chapter 19 gives us a timeline of the wrath of God. It begins with the judgment of Babylon or the great Harlot or Idolatress. Verse 2 says He has judged and visited on her the penalty for the blood of His servants.
In verse 7 the Marriage of the Lamb has come. The white linen represents righteous living and the death of the fleshly nature. Mark 15:46 records Jesus dead body being wrapped in fine linen cloth before He was placed in the tomb.
In verse 14 the troops of heaven are clothed in fine linen, dazzling and clean, following Him on white horses. Verse 9 says, “Blessed are those who are summoned to the marriage supper of the lamb.” These could very possibly be the troops from heaven dressed in fine linen.
Matthew 22:12 says, “Friend, how did you come in here without putting on the appropriate wedding garment?” It does not say what it is, just that without it you will be thrown into the outer darkness.
Revelation 19:11-16 is telling us that Jesus is coming back on that white horse. The next scene is an angel with a mighty voice shouting to the birds to come and feast on the great supper of God (of dead bodies). I believe it is very possible that the Marriage Supper takes place before the battle.
Verse 19 says the beast and the rulers and leaders with their troops are mustered to make war against Jesus and His troops. The 6th Vial is making a road for the coming of the kings from the east or the rising of the sun, which could be for the Marriage supper. Then in Rev. 16:15, it says Lo, I am going to come like a thief, blessed are those who guard their clothes…
Then in verse 16 it also records those who are gathered in Armageddon for battle against Jesus. Then He throws the beast and the false prophet into the lake of fire. He kills the rest, but they do not get sent to the lake of fire until after the Millennium and the white throne judgement.
When He comes back, He will be ready to take His bride home. He will make a quick work of the wrath. How long will it take for Him to throw the beast and the false prophet into the lake of fire? How long will it take Him to kill the rest with the sword of His mouth? Not very long.
Then He will take up His throne and begin to reign for 1000 years of peace. He will set up those who have on the right garment on thrones to rule and reign with Him while living in the Beloved City with their Beloved Bridegroom! How gloriously beautiful that will be!
