10. Enter into the rock and hide yourself in the dust from before the terror of the Lord, and from the glory of His majesty. Amp.
DEFINITIONS
Glory -c) magnificence, beauty, splendor, excellency, honor.
Magnificence -d) richness and splendor.
Splendor -d) great luster, brilliance; to shine.
Isaiah is giving an account of the last days. The Lord is coming back with recompence. Many will be dealt with because of their pride and Idolatry. The Lord here is humbling man and ending all idolatry.
ISAIAH 2:19
19. Then shall the stricken deprived of all in which they had trusted go into the caves of the rocks and into the holes of the earth, from before the terror and dread of the Lord, and from the glory of His majesty when He rises to shake mightily and terribly the earth. Amp.
REVELATION 6:14, 16:20
14. …and every mountain and island was dislodged from its place.
20. And every island fled, and no mountains could be found.
The wrath of God is being poured out and all this shaking is happening. That must mean volcanoes and earthquakes. Volcanic activity causes earthquakes. Volcanic activity is what God uses to create and uncreate islands and mountains. All islands and mountains are being dislodged because of the shaking of the earth or earthquakes.
The sun and the moon are darkened. Yellowstone National Park in the U.S, is the home of a Super volcano. When I first started following information on this volcano there were 41 seismic events noted for the month of January in 2020. They were then wondering if it was waking up. Now 200 small earthquakes per month are reported as normal. This activity is escalating, and they say there are no signs of it erupting.
The scriptures say otherwise. If this super volcano did erupt it would send such a great mass of ash and lava into the air that the sun and moon would definitely be darkened, not to mention the deaths of thousands, the loss of crops and wildlife. It would definitely change the US for the worst.
When the Lord rises to mightily shake the earth, He will reveal His glory. It will affect His people in a wonderful way giving them great power to overcome their sins and weaknesses and bring them protection. It will be His time of recompence.
We will see His great beauty, majesty and honor. How it will affect us depends upon the life we have led. He is always reaching out to us to save us and to draw us near. But one day soon His shaking will be completed. All the mountains will be gone because man has asked for the mountains and rocks to fall upon them to hide them from His glorious Face. He is just giving them what they asked for.
PSALM 46:1-6
l. God is our refuge and strength a very present help in trouble.
2. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea.
3. Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah
4. There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the Most High.
5. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.
6. The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: He uttered His voice, the earth melted. KJV.
