REVELATION 12:1-2
- And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars;
- And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered. KJV
DEFINITIONS
Blood -c) “Adam” -c) to be dumb, astonished, to perish, to show blood in the face, flush or turn rosy, be red hypocrite
Who is this woman? Some say it is physical Israel. Some say the overcoming bride or the elect of God. I believe it is the overcoming remnant or bride of Christ. She is clothed with the sun meaning power. The twelve stars are most probably the twelve tribes of Israel that she also must be in travail.
Jesus is the Light of the world spiritually as the sun is physically. She is clothed with Jesus and the Holy Spirit which is the Spirit of Jesus. Physical Israel is not part of this unless they are clothed with Jesus and acknowledge Him as the Messiah. Jesus is the only way to the Father.
The moon is a desolate place that only reflects the light of the sun. There is no life on the moon. She has the moon under her feet. That is when we have victory over the devil he is under our feet. The key in the meaning of the word moon is in Rev. 6:12 where it says the moon became as blood. The definition for blood is the Hebrew word “Adam.”
I believe this is saying that she has gotten the victory over her “adamic” nature or the flesh. She does not follow the dictates of the flesh but the leading of the Holy Spirit and is clothed with the Spirit.
The moon represents the shepherds who have not gotten the victory over the flesh or allowed the Holy Spirit to have control. The Sun represents the overcoming shepherds who have been clothed with sackcloth, which is a sign of grief, penitence, and mourning.
Revelation 12:11
11. And they have overcome (conquered) him by the means of the blood of the Lamb and by the utterance of their testimony, for they did not love and cling to life even when faced with death – holding their lives cheap till they had to die for their witnessing. Amp.
Think of the many times you hang onto this life. At least the infidel in the Muslim’s captivity is facing a quick death. We must face a long slow painful spiritual cross. We must get up every day and pick up our cross and follow the Lamb. We must choose the ways of the Spirit and not the flesh. We deny the flesh and we get the victory.
PSALM 119:133
133. Establish my steps and direct them by Your Word; let not any iniquity have dominion over me. Amp.
But I say, walk and live [habitually] in the [Holy] Spirit [responsive to and controlled and guided by the Spirit]; then you will certainly not gratify the cravings and desires of the flesh (of human nature without God). (Gal 5:16)
