PSALM 27:4-5
4. One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after, inquire for and (insistently) require, that I may dwell in the house of the Lord (in His presence) all the days of my life, to behold and gaze upon the beauty (the sweet attractiveness and delightful loveliness) of the Lord, and to meditate, consider and inquire in His temple.
5. For in the day of trouble He will hide me in His shelter; in the secret place of His tent will He hide me; He will set me high upon a rock. Amp.
How do we come into this safe and secret place in the day of trouble? David is the Psalmist and is asking that He may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of His life. He is asking to be allowed to gaze upon His beauty and to ask and inquire in His temple. We are His temple. We have been given the privilege to come to the place where He is and look upon Him.
Psalm 100:1-4
- Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.
- Serve the Lord with gladness: come before His presence with singing.
- Know ye that the Lord He is God; it is He that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.
- Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise: be thankful unto Him, and bless His name. KJV.
We must obey the scriptures if we want to come into His presence. When we come to worship, we must have the right mindset. We must place our thoughts on how good He is. We cannot be thinking about all of our problems and expect to come into His presence. We begin at the gate and there we must come with thanksgiving. No matter how bad things may seem in our life, there is always something good to focus on and thank Him for.
If we are not thankful, we will not even get through the gate. Then we enter His courts with praise. We are in His yard and must praise Him. That is only the beginning. But the devil will try to cause you problems before you get to Church to upset your worship.
We are told in Psalm 5:11, 32:7 and 27:6 to shout unto the Lord with joy. If we want to see His face, we must get excited about the Lord and learn to praise and shout and then we are set free to come closer and to see His face. This is our map of how to come into His presence. If we don’t follow directions, we will wonder why we are not safe in the day of trouble.
This is possible to see the Lord’s face and dwell in His presence where we are so safe. He will cleanse us all along the way making us consecrated unto Him. It requires a consecrated soul who is desiring His presence above all the angry voices of this world that will get in the way.
The devil does not want you in His presence or to come anywhere near His face because that is where the power is. To see His face is the most blessed we can ever be. There is power in His beauty that will guard and keep us through anything.
Psalm 95:6 Honor and majesty are before Him; strength and beauty are in His sanctuary.
This is powerful and I can witness this and it’s working in my life.
We need to be consecrated and you have said it in a better way
….It requires a consecrated soul who is desiring His presence above all the angry voices of this world that will get in the way.
