2 PETER 3:14
14. So, beloved, since you are expecting these things, be eager to be found by Him (at His coming) without spot or blemish, and at peace – in serene confidence, free from fears and agitating passions and moral conflicts.
DEFINITIONS
Fear -d) anxiety and agitation caused by the presence of danger, evil, pain, etc.
Peace -c) completeness, safe, rest, favor, well, happy, quietness, health, prosperity, welfare.
Rest -c) cease, abode.
Serene -d) clear, unclouded; as a serene sky; undisturbed calm.
We have gone over so many of the last days scriptures and warnings and they all seem to come back to being ready and at peace. So, we will go over being at peace again.
2 Peter 3:14 is telling us to be eager. We must be practicing living without fear and being at rest. If we do not pay attention to our spirit’s condition, an unsettledness can sneak in and steal our peace very easily.
All the definitions of peace are at our disposal to use all the time. If we are not happy, we should check our spirit to find out why. We need to have a close relationship with Jesus so we can be in communion with Him and ask for help waiting and listening for His answer. He has many ways to answer. But if we do not ask, how can we expect answers?
This is an ongoing battle. Satan will not stop searching for ways to bring fear and anxiety in our life. If the Lord says for us to be found by Him at peace when He comes back, then it should be a priority.
If Jesus is on the throne of our hearts, then He is guiding us. We should be following His leading in all that we do. He will be there with us, and His presence will keep us from all harm. Then what reason do we have for fear? We have all of His promises, and He cannot lie.
We enter His rest through faith in His promises and Word. We know He is faithful and will be with us through every difficulty we encounter. It is said that I would rather be in the storm with Jesus than smooth sailing without Him.
Fear is the end result of confusion leading to unbelief. If we believe He is with us then we can fight the lies of the enemy when fear comes. And it will come. We must learn to resist it like any other sin.
We must keep our focus on the good things the Lord has promised and has instore for us. We must train our thoughts to look forward and not backward to previous hurts and painful situations. Satan loves to bring up the past. We must be binding the spirits that he uses, or we will be thinking the wrong thoughts. Our mind is Satan’s battleground. We must stop him there and not allow these thoughts into our heart.
We can live a life of peace and a serene undisturbed calm. This is the Lord’s will for each of us. It is our job to believe it and receive it.
Psalm 46:1-2
- God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
- Therefore, we will not fear, though the earth will be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea. KJV
Indeed what Jesus expects when He comes should be our priority.

Lord, help us to keep our focus on the good things that You have promised and have instore for us. Help us to train our thoughts to look forward and not backward to previous hurts and painful situations. Keep our eyes on You and not ourselves through the storms that come our way.

Yes He must be our help. We cannot do it on our own. Thanks for the comment.
