PSALM 116:15

15. Precious (important and no light matter) in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints – His loving ones.

I believe He is talking about not only physical death but the spiritual death of our fleshly nature by being crucified with Christ.

2 Corinthians 4:10-12

10. Always carrying about in the body the liability and exposure to the same putting to death that the Lord Jesus suffered, so that the resurrection life of Jesus also may be shown forth by and in our bodies.

11. For we who live are constantly experiencing being handed over to death for Jesus’ sake that the resurrection life of Jesus also may be evidenced through our flesh which is liable to death.

12. Thus death is actively at work in us, but it is in order that our life may be actively at work in you. Amp.

We are to be living the crucified life of Jesus as we die to self and its desires and demands. We are not alone but crucified with Christ as we live and move and have our being in Him. We are enduring some trials that are sent to help us to die to different things that should not be in our life.

Romans 8:13 For if you live according to the dictates of the flesh you will surely die. But if through the power of the Holy Spirit you are habitually putting to death – making extinct, deadening — the evil deeds prompted by the body, you shall really and genuinely live forever.

Galatians 5:19-20 lists the practices of the flesh. We are to resist through the power of the Holy Spirit habitually. We must make it a habit to no longer do or say the things that are wrong and fleshly. We know that drinking, smoking, drugs and sexual sins are wrong. But many stop there. They want to ignore the pride, anger, jealousy, envy, gossip, slander, doubt, unbelief and worldliness. These spiritual sins are also to be resisted.

Romans 6:19 … yield your bodily members and faculties once for all as servants to righteousness – right being and doing which leads to sanctification. Amp.

As we resist, we will become sanctified leading us to a holy life of obedience to the Lord. It all comes to us as we are thankful and positive, never complaining but denying our carnal nature depending on Jesus and His attributes, keeping our eyes on Jesus and off of our own weakness praying always keeping Satan under our feet.
