REVELATION 3:7-9

7. And the angel of the church in Philadelphia write, These things saith He that is holy, He that is true, He that hath the key of David, He that openeth, and shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;

8. I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept My Word, and hast not denied My name.

9. Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.

This is a promise the Lord is bringing in the last days of harvest. He is preparing His elect for a specific work and telling them that He alone opens the door when blessings are being poured out. He also closes that same door. There are times in our life that we think we are ready for larger pastures. But we are kept in a smaller area and feel we should be doing more for the Lord.

These are times that we learn the deeper lessons that the Lord has for us. It is more valuable to Him for us to minister to Him alone in the secret place than in the assemblies of the congregations. Many jump into ministry before the Lord would have them go. For His elect, He will shut that door on you right when you think you are on the verge of something big. But if it is He shutting the door, we must never force it open. He knows what plans He has for us and what battles we will face down the line. We must be prepared to fight with the right weapons and learn how. He knows how to teach us and lead us on.

Verse 8 says that He knows we have but little strength, but have kept going, obeying His Word and not denying His name or His character. This means that we never stop believing in His goodness no matter how rough we may be treated by others or the enemy. No matter how hard our trials may be we must stay positive and thankful trusting that He will bring good out of any suffering we may endure.

When He does open that door, we must also know no one is able to shut it. Satan cannot keep you out. No man can stop you from answering the call He has placed on your life. He may send you on a much greater journey than you could have ever chosen for yourself. He will have people along the way who will attend to your needs.

And at the same time those who have judged you along your journey, misunderstanding your every step will have to bow and submit to you admitting that the Lord loves you and has been with you all along. What a great blessing!
